Multicultural Britain Day at Hillcrest
A brilliant day was had by all on Friday, which was our launch day for the partnership between our 2 schools.
Students produced lots of fantastic work throughout the day- and there is so much we cannot possible upload it all at once! Please see some of the work below - and DPS should expect to also receive some through the post soon!

Students in ICT created new flags for the partnership, combining the British and Indian flags, but also the school logos. |
Students in English drew stereotypical pictures, showing what other peoples' perceptions are of British people |
Some students created cards celebrating the partnership. |
In geography, students worked together to create a map of Great Britain with many landmarks marked upon it. They also made a fact sheet so that the students at DPS can learn all about Britain. |
Some children created posters to celebrate the partnership. |
In English, year 7 wrote letters to the students at DPS to tell them about themselves and ask questions. Let's hope we get some replies! |

In art students created their own British inspired mendhi designs to paint on their hands. The pictures of the finished painting will follow later! |
In history students created timelines of British history so that students at DPS can learn all about the history of our country. |
In MFL some students learnt a little bit of Gujarati, and worked at creating simple posters for classroom doors |
Students in MFL created some basic English phrasebooks for the younger children at DPS to use. |
The class V students of DPS Newtown organised an ISA activity ,based on the topic "Counting Money".The students made flags of India and Britain, collage of the Indian Rupee and the English Pound and did a little bit of research work on the value of the Rupee and the Pound. All the work beautifully done, was then put up on the soft board for display

Hillcrest's Multicultural Britain Day
On Friday 21st October Hillcrest are holding a launch day for the partnership.
We are celebrating all that is great about Britain, to share with our partner school so that they may learn a little bit more about us.
